Individueller Beitragsfaktor:
Senkung des Grenzbetrages auf Fr. 100'000.-.
Der Grenzbetrag für die Bestimmung des Beitragsfaktors muss von Fr. 120‘000.- auf Fr. 100‘000.- herabgesetzt werden. Eine entsprechende Anpassung der Verordnung über die familienergänzende Kinderbetreuung ist derzeit in Arbeit und soll nach Genehmigung durch den Gemeinderat per 1. September 2011 in Kraft gesetzt werden.

Good childcare isn't cheap

A place in a kihz day nursery with opening times of 10 ½ to 11 hours costs CHF 117 per day. The ETH, UNI and PH colleges, the City of Zürich and the parents contribute towards these total costs.

The parental contribution for a child-care place in the kihz day nurseries is calculated according to the City’s parental contribution policy. This is based on the income and other general circumstances in the family. The college to which the parents belong will subsidise the place. This means that they bear the costs of the difference between the parental contribution and the total cost.

Contribution from the City of Zurich

Parental Contribution Policy has changed from January 1, 2009. Parents living in the City of Zurich have to apply directly at the department of school ans sports. For parents not living in Zurich, kihz is calculating the parental contribution, applying the city regulations. Highschool subventions

For a limited number of places, the City of Zurich will also make a contribution which will not meet the total costs. The additional amount which is not covered in the case of places subsidised by the City is jointly financed by the colleges.

Calculations example

The Sample family pays a sum of CHF 67, for example, per care day, based on their income and family circumstances. The colleges will then take on the remaining CHF 50 for a place that costs us CHF 117.
If it is a place that is subsidised by the City, we will receive a contribution from the City of the difference up to CHF 90 (in this example approx. CHF 23), and the rest (CHF 27) will be paid by the colleges.

In principle, holidays and child absences cannot be refunded.

Joining fee

We do not charge a fee for administering the waiting list, but when a child joins the day nursery we will charge a one-off fee of CHF 250. If a child changes to an other kihz day nursery or a second child is accepted, the fee will be reduced to CHF 100. No joining fee is charged to parents who are employed by the kihz Foundation.

More costs more

All projects or purchases which go over and beyond the "normal" framework have to be funded by outside money.
