Evaluation 2005

Of the 153 questionnaires issued, we have received 68 back, which corresponds to a rate of return of about 45%. Thank you to all of the parents and children who took the time to respond to the questionnaire.

Analysis of the responses has shown that parents and children are essentially very satisfied with “kihz holiday care” (see also the above graph). Practically without exception, parents would register their children for a holiday course again next year, and equally most children wanted to take part again.

Course location
The majority of parents found the information provided before registration (on our website) and before carrying out our provision (letter to parents with map) as satisfactory and good.
5 parents wanted more detailed information on the course location in advance.
We intentionally rented the course rooms at a late date so that we did not have to specify any end to the registration period and thus were able to allow as many children as possible to take part in our courses. We will continue to endeavour to carry out kihz holiday care in the college area as far as is possible. However, it is unfortunately not possible to take into consideration the routes to work of all of the college members.

Care hours
Only 5 parents wanted to start earlier in the morning, and 6 wanted to stop later in the evening.A similar number of parents were interested in half-day provision.The nine-hour, continuous duration of care was for the large majority of parents the optimum timescale.

Costs and discounts
The parental contribution was considered “appropriate“ by the overwhelming majority. On the other hand, a significant minority of parents considered the sibling discount too low. No-one took the opportunity to make a “hardship application”.
In order for the courses to be run economically, we will have to raise the parental contributions slightly in the coming year, and in return we will be increasing the sibling discount.

Naturally, we want all of the parents and children who take part to be happy with “kihz holiday care” in every respect.
For a number of reasons, the needs of individuals do differ, and for this reason it is difficult to make things ideal for everyone. However, we can assure you that we will give serious consideration to any suggestions or improvements in the future, with the aim of tailoring the range of activities on offer as far as possible to your needs.
