Age groups

We have two parallel programmes for the two different age groups at different locations. 7-year-old children can choose if they’d prefer to be one of the oldest among the younger age group or one of the youngest among the older age group. 4-year-old children must have some crèche or kindergarten experience.

• Kindergarten age group: children aged 4-7
• School age group: children aged 7-11
• Group sizes: from 12 to 32 children, 1 carer per 8 children, minimum 2 carers

Zurich school holidays

The kihz holiday clubs are offered over a 5-week period during the school holidays in the city of Zurich every year. The programme caters for two different age groups and offers 10 courses.
Programme

• Spring: one week
• Summer: three weeks
• Autumn: one week

5 days with lunch

The set childcare time is 9 hours per day. It is not possible to arrange individual times for bringing and collecting your children (apart from exceptional cases such as medical appointments).

• Childcare hours: 8.30 am-5.30 pm (including lunch)
• Arrival time: at the latest by 9 am
• Collection time: at the earliest 5 pm
• Punctuality: always hand over your child to one of our carers. No childcare is available before 8.30 am or after 5.30 pm.
  Not all excursions are announced in advance and we cannot wait for latecomers.
• Locations: locations differ from course to course and depend on the number of registrations. If the programme takes place at a substantial distance away from the university area and the public transportation system, a meeting point will be arranged.
  Please note that the two age groups are cared for in different locations.

• No reservations: registrations are valid
  as soon as you send the online form. It is not possible to make a
  reservation. Cancellations are subject to a fee (administrative fee).
• Priority: the order in which we
  receive the registrations is decisive! For the last 5 places priority is
  given to children belonging to university staff.
• Costs: for university staff the courses are subsidised
  according to income. External parents pay the full amount.
  Costs
• Invoice: You will be sent an invoice by post to confirm your registration. Please provide payment during the week 30 days prior to the beginning of the holidays (late payments will not be interpreted as a cancellation).

• Letter to parents: you will be informed of all the details in our letter to parents 2 weeks before the course begins.

Extras

• Meals: mid-morning snacks, lunch and afternoon snacks are included. Special treats are not provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
• Allergies/medication: carers must be notified in writing on the first morning of any allergies or medication which must be taken.
• Respect: children who do not wish to participate or disrupt group activities cannot be cared for individually and must be collected by their parents.
